OVERALL PRODUCTION NUMBERS
This table gives a basic overview of Ford Falcon / Fairlane / LTD production figures from 1972 to 1979.

Ford have only released to the public accurate production figures for all Falcon Hardtops, the Falcon GT,
the ZH Fairlane and the P5 & P6 LTD. These figures are presented as tables throughout this website.

All other totals presented here are based on Ford verification letters which are known to vary
between customers and should be taken with the proverbial "grain of salt." In these instances, the
highest known total has been quoted until further evidence can be provided.

Differing XA to XC Falcon range totals have also been quoted by various sources over the years.
The XA has been quoted as 129,473 including ZF Fairlane models. The XB has been quoted as
211,971 including ZG Fairlanes and the XC is commonly quoted as 171,082 including the ZH
Fairlane. The totals below have been quoted from Ewan Kennedy's 1996 Ford Falcon book and
presently seem the most accurate when compared against the totals from other Falcon models.

The XB Falcon 500 sedan was one of the most produced Falcon series with over 67,000 built from 1973 to 1976.
Note the front disc-brakes which were a standard fitting on the XB range.


The XB Fairmont with a 302ci V8 engine was also assembled in New Zealand from
late 1973 via CKD Kits imported from Australia.

All Falcon Hardtop cars were built at the Broadmeadows plant.
Falcon 500 VIN prefix: JG65. Fairmont VIN prefix: JG67. Falcon GT VIN prefix: JG66.

The letters quoted under the year and month dates are the associated VIN date codes.
